Build idea

Technical documentation Skill for a repeatable writing method

A technical documentation Skill keeps a repeatable writing method available to your agents. Describe the structure, sources and checks in Builder, then test it through an appropriate agent. This is an build ideas, not a sales result.

Before you read

What gets published

A reusable documentation method with a defined structure, approved references and checks, tested through an appropriate agent.

Best for

Technical writers, documentation leads, developer advocates, and engineers who already have a documented method they want to reuse, share, attach to an Agent, or sell.

Where the work happens

Documentation method · Reusable Skill · Approved references · Agent testing

01

Choose the documentation job

  • Pick a repeatable piece of writing: a setup guide, an API reference page or a release note. Define who will read it and what the reader should be able to do afterwards.
  • Use the method you already trust. Record the questions a writer should ask, the evidence needed for a claim and the checks that make the document useful. This is an worked build pattern, not proof of a customer result.
02

Describe the method in Builder

  • Open the Skill in Builder and explain the structure you want. For a setup guide, that might include prerequisites, the exact steps, a way to verify success and the next action if something fails.
  • Add a short example of the style and level of detail you expect. Say which facts must come from a current source and when the agent should leave an open question rather than guess.
03

Keep references useful

  • Keep the method in the Skill instructions and add the approved references it needs. A SKILL.md file can describe the job, inputs, steps and limits; supporting references provide the details an agent should consult.
  • Use only material you own or have permission to use. Keep secrets out of examples and check the audience before including internal configuration or customer information. A reusable method does not grant access to private source systems.
04

Make the checks concrete

  • Ask for accurate names, current links and commands that match the documented environment. For a procedural guide, include the expected result and explain how a reader can recognize a failed step.
  • Keep the author responsible for factual review. An agent can follow a writing method and still produce an incorrect detail. Check the document against the source, and run the relevant steps in the appropriate test environment when the work requires it.
05

Test through the working agent

  • Attach the Skill to an appropriate agent and request a real draft. Review its structure, source references, assumptions and missing information. Try an incomplete brief and an outdated reference as well as a normal task.
  • If a step is missing, tell Builder what to change and run the same example again. A Skill provides the method; the agent, model and authorized tools determine what the workflow can actually do.
06

Reuse the method where it fits

  • Use the method in agents that need the same documentation standard. Keep responsibility for updates clear and check affected tasks when the source material or instructions change.
  • Start with one useful method during the trial. If you later offer a paid Agent service, define its working experience, access and eligible seller setup separately. Reusable Skills support that agent; they are not the commercial promise on this page.
