Pricing FAQ
Common pricing questions before you launch.
These answers describe how pricing, access, limits, and Stripe-backed subscriptions work for a Prostir app.
What counts as a billable operation? A billable operation is a published-app runtime request that can use knowledge, resources, prompts, tools, or MCP runtime coordination. Static page views, pricing-page visits, and reading public marketing pages are not billable operations. Read
Can I sell access to my own AI app? Yes. Prostir is designed for creators and businesses that want to sell access to an AI app. Stripe Checkout handles payment, while Prostir projects subscription state, access grants, and quotas into the runtime. Read
What happens when a plan limit is reached? The runtime checks quota before executing the operation. If a limit is reached, the app can block the operation, ask the customer to upgrade, or move the creator to a larger plan instead of silently overusing backend resources. Read
Do my customers need a Prostir account? Customer access depends on how the app is configured. A paid app can use Stripe-backed entitlement, authenticated access, or scoped customer grants so the MCP endpoint only serves the users who should have access. Read
Are external API costs included? External provider fees are not included unless a Business agreement says so. Prostir meters its own runtime, knowledge, app, auth, and billing layer; third-party APIs, model providers, and paid integrations can still charge separately. Read
When should I choose Business? Choose Business when you need custom limits, onboarding help, custom domains or white-label setup, security or compliance review, higher runtime volume, custom support, or a launch that needs operator involvement. Read
